colour trend Milan

The Salone del Mobile in Milan is one of the fairs I visit every year. I believe Milan is a must when you want to know about interior trends. In addition to the fairs I look at fashion, art and society. Blogs, platforms, social media like Pinterest, but also real life… just about everything you see around you can be of interest. The following weeks you can read some blog posts about the fair in Milan and what was striking in my opinion. In this blog post I write about trends in colour. In general, colors are not as bright as before. They contain more black or white. Pastels are combined with brighter colors, I didn’t see the complete pastel palettes anymore. Some colour palettes that I spotted most:

With Marsala being Pantone color of the year, it was not surprising to see many reds, browns and berry tones. In Milan this colour was often combined with light pink, copper orange and copper. Or with greyed blues for a more Scandinavian feel.

In this board images of the showroom of Piet Boon and the new Mod collection by textile designer Mae Engelgeer.
For the first time in years I feel I saw many neutrals combined, even completely neutral palettes. Beautiful combinations of greys, browns and sand tones, all “in the mix”. Brown leather fits in beautifully here.

Offect showed a fine example of the combined green tones I saw a lot this year. Left an intuitive experimental research of the material enamel by Sepp Muller.
Especially the ” forest green ” colour I saw recur several times, both in walls and in textiles.

black, white and yellow

Black and white is still a widely used color combination. This year I often saw black and white with a touch of lemon. Above left an image of Arpers Salone booth, which was conducted completely in this colour combination.
